Grace Omondi talks about her experience as a female candidate in Makadara, Nairobi, in Kenya’s 2013 elections. It is a deeply sexist society, with only seven percent elected female MPs in the last parliament. Although she saw her opponents import and bribe voters, she still says: “I am the Queen of the race of Makadara”.
