GABS is back in 2013 and we’re pumped!
The event was created to promote and celebrate the region’s exciting and flourishing craft beer scene and with almost 11,000 genuine beer enthusiasts attending, more than 500 volunteers and 60 unique ‘festival beers’ brewed by some of Australia and New Zealand’s finest breweries, GABS last year was a great success on many levels. We also learnt a lot from the experience, however, listened to the feedback and have made many improvements to ensure GABS becomes a leading beer festival in the heart of the strongest craft beer market in Australia.
So… after considerable planning, GABS will return to the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne this May 24-26.
While there are many highlights planned for this year, there are two which are especially exciting. One is the increase in exclusive, new-release beers from 60 to 100 allowing many of the breweries we couldn’t accommodate last year to get involved. Testament to GABS’ growing reputation, some of the most famous craft breweries in the world have also committed to brewing a special beer for GABS 2013 including Sierra Nevada Brewing Co (USA), Brooklyn Brewery (USA), Thornbridge Brewery (UK), Birra del Borgo (Italy), Mikkeller (Denmark), Camden Town Brewery (UK), Nøgne ø (Norway) – in collaboration with Moon Dog Brewery (VIC), Baird Brewery (Japan) and Moylans Brewery (USA).
And for the first time, GABS 2013 will feature an exciting and bustling ‘Beer Market’ with stands for breweries and beer-related businesses.
Highlights for GABS 2013:
3 day event
Up to 100 exclusive, new-release beers (up from 60)
Redesigned Container Bars (for quicker service)
60 ‘Beer Market’ stalls for breweries and related businesses
Food Stalls moving indoors – out of the cold!

People’s Choice Best Beer of GABS Award
Brewer’s Choice Best Beer of GABS Award (NEW)
