What is it they say, thirty is the new twenty? I spent much of twenty-eight dreading twenty-nine, only to understand thirty, of course, to be inescapable. A year can be whatever you want it to be: a testament to the small things in life, a marker for the big things, a narrative that promises to surprise you if you let it. So I sought to capture each day, from my twenty-ninth birthday to my thirtieth, in one-second video. Shot entirely on a Canon PowerShot SD1400 IS, which was never out of arm's reach.
So this is it, my twenty-ninth year in seven minutes. One writer's life in New York City. (And yes, I really did see The Amazing Spider-Man five times. Okay... seven times.)
Music: "You! Me! Dancing!" Los Campesinos! (2008)
P.S. This project was in no way an original idea. The progenitor was hey_rabbit's inspired video "2011," which can be found here: vimeo.com/34874881. Do yourself a favor and watch that, too.
