"Go down Moses (Spiritual)" by Les Petits Chanteurs de Montigny (melimelodie.montigny.free.fr/)
"Film Trouve" is a name used by the founding artist producers, Film Trouve, and Musician Megastar Asylum, and is set out as the collecting of arbitrary still and moving images into a themed but short presentation. As it appears to be a style now being copied and used by several artists, it can be now considered a new genre. Like all new genres that began in the art world, initially received with caution and critiscism, the new style soon becomes part and parcel of the contemporary art world.
To quote the authors "Combining eclectic film and video clips and stills together with an original soundtrack, to explore the hidden sides of ourselves. To be a tourist in our home town.
The Directors and Producers, have produced many original soundtracks and by exploring new ways of combining contemporary art with contemporary music, have given birth to the artform they are calling Film Trouvé.
This is part of the Film Trouvé oeuvre, based around
Film Trouve, (found film) is our contemporary, genre.
Film Trouve is based around combining eclectic stills, film and video footage, the everyday, the surreal, some from holidays or unknown places, using formats such as colour, Kodachrome, Ektachrome, Tri-X, black and white footage in a pastiche of images and emotions entwined with an original soundtrack produced by exponents of Film Trouve.
The founding principle of Film Trouvé is that any seemingly arbitrary image, film, video or stills, for example in a holiday, everyday or seemingly ordinary setting, are later reinterpreted and presented as a new thematic narrative to explore deeper, more conceptually the profound and inherent narratives that exist within each and every image and frame.
There are always underlying narratives to these images, often unknowingly, for the photographer and/or the subject.
Film Trouve exponents aim to uncover and present these inherently conscious, subconscious and/or unconscious visions and narratives that exist within every frame and every image.
Film Trouve, (Film found) is our new contemporary, genre. The Film finds you.
Combining our eclectic film and video clips and stills together with an original soundtrack.
This Video invites us to explore the hidden sides of ourselves, in an internal visit to the foreign country- our psyche. To be a tourist in our home town.
The Directors and Producers, have produced many original soundtracks and by exploring new ways of combining contemporary art with contemporary music, have given birth to the artform they are calling FILM TROUVE.
The films are always kept short and combined with an original soundtrack produced by the exponents of the Film Trouve. An additional challenge.
