In his feisty new video for Cancer Research, David Wilson throws down the gauntlet and summons us all to rally against cancer and take that sucker down. Part Grease, part Breaking Bad and with a typographic nod to Drive, it's not your average all-girl choreographed routine, it's a badass dance of destruction.
Don't be misled by the bubblegum pink satin jackets, pristine pop socks and girly hair bows, these chicks mean business. Set against the industrial backdrop of a scrapyard, the harmless-looking gang of 1950s-styled heroines prove they're made of sterner stuff, throwing shapes, swinging baseball bats and generally unleashing their fury on a car standing in for cancer.
With highly stylised visuals, comic details and a hint of eccentricity in the mix, the video has that unmistakable Wilson factor but adds a tougher edge, in the spirit of Cancer Research's no holds barred promise to take cancer down. These are some fighting words, so bring on the dance-off.
