In February 2013, I went on family vacations with my mother and girlfriend to the northern French Alps. We headed to Habère Poche, a nice village located at the end of a valley called "La Vallée Verte"

It turned out we saw anything but green that week. With the unbelievable snow conditions the Alps had this winter, the snow quality was the best we had ever seen in that area. Thus, winter welcomed us with -15°C and a fresh snowfall of 30cm overnight. After that, the conditions became hotter as the days went by.

The area accounts for what can be cold the northern Préalpes of France, from the Balcons du Léman in the north to the Chablais mountain range. It is for the most part low-moutain terrain, as the highest peaks doesn't exceed 2400m. As a result, it is a privileged massif for nice skitours, snowshoeing and alpine skiing. Furthermore, the embracing view over the Léman Lake and the Mont Blanc massif is just breathtaking.

Anyway I hope you'll enjoy this video as much as we enjoyed spending the week there!
