This story involves two boys, many years and thousands of miles apart. The first is the son of Dow Europe employee Max Robinson. His son died unexpectedly in a tragic accident, but he turned personal tragedy into triumph through an independent foundation called Rainbows4Children. Through this foundation, Max and his wife, Kathyryn, started a school for underprivileged children in Ethiopia.
The second story unfolds in Ethiopia, where a teacher noticed a gravely ill boy at the school. Because of her passion, the boy is now a healthy, thriving child who is back in school.
Rainbows4children raises money to help some of the poorest children in Ethiopia through funding of education projects. 80% of the students in the school are children of parents with disabilities; all of them live in the poorest neighborhoods; and none of them would have a chance at an education without Rainbows4Children.
