We are proud to present our second video interview series. New style, more Vienna impressions! We hope you enjoy it like we do! We met the Georgian artist Tamuna Sribliladze (*1971, Tbilisi) in Charim Gallery project space in the Viennese gallery street Schleifmühlgasse (near the bazar Naschmarkt), where she shows her newest painting series "V collection" (until March 31). We got to know not only a great artists but also a lovely, sensitive and strong personality. She dedicated this show to her husband Franz West who died last year: "These paintings helped me a lot during my very hard times. My therapy."
Tamuna Sirbiladze grew up in Georgia and moved to Vienna, where she met Franz West, her later husband and father of their two sons. She works with installations, videos, performances and paintings and exhbited in many international venues (see CV down under). The artist couple cooperated in many projects during the last years but Tamuna Sirbiladze points out that she never felt to be "in the shadow" of her famous husband and that she has always worked independently as an artist: "Franz hated all this authoritarian stuff".
