ITLP uses theater as a means of social uplift for children in developing nations. The ITLP theater workshops are designed to inspire new possibilities for children’s lives and foster leadership skills to benefit them and their community and country. With the help of volunteer artist-educators, students write and perform their own original works. Last summer, over the course of 2 weeks, 45 students wrote and performed two original plays about their lives in their township—Philippi, South Africa-- which was then performed for their community.
The students, teacher and parents of Philippi have written to ask us to return. But we need your help!
If we are able to raise $5,000, we can return to South Africa and work with 25 new children for two weeks. Raising $10,000 will provide us the resources to work with 50 students for three weeks.
