In this project, I was required to create a character to go along with a clip from a movie or show. I then modeled the character from scratch and rigged it myself, including newly-learned face rigging skills. From there, I had to create a performance and animate it, including my first time doing lip sync. Overall, this was a pretty fun project, and I'm looking forward to doing more character stuff in the future.
The Frankenstein monster idea came entirely separately from the audio clip I chose, but it ended up fitting quite well. For the setting, I wanted him to be on some sort of tv science debate show, and ended up going with a goofy public access channel because I just felt like it.
New skills used in this project:
Facial animation / lip sync animation
Skin shaders using sub-surface scattering
Normal maps via Mudbox
