This video illuminates the stark contrast between what is considered a "normal" childhood in North Carolina and what migrant children often must endure. This is facilitated by interviewing various students at Duke University, all of which were blessed with the ability to have carefree childhood years. By showing the contrast, greater awareness of the harsh conditions with which migrant children deal is attained.

Videos created by undergraduate students in the spring 2013 course DOCST 332S "Farmworkers in North Carolina: Roots of Poverty, Roots of Change," in collaboration with Student Action with Farmworkers (saf-unite.org). National Farmworker Awareness Week (NFAW) is a week of action for students and community members to raise awareness about farmworker issues on our campuses and in our communities. In 2013 we celebrate the 14th Annual National Farmworker Awareness Week to raise awareness about farmworker conditions and to honor their important contributions to us every day!
