The race night at the Forest City Velodrome on Sat. Feb 23, 2013 saw racers come from all over Ontario, NY, CT, NJ. Racers from all categories took to the boards of the 138m track except for me. I suffered an injury a week prior and I was unable to race. However, Adam Poll of the Waterloo Cycling Club raced in the A category and used my bike cams and powertap wheel to give us a bird's eye view of what it is like to race in the top category at the track. The HUD display is Adam's stats during he race. Watch Adam as he laps the field twice in this 75 lap scratch race.
This video is a bit of an experiment because six cameras were used to record the video with two on the bike, one in the announcer's booth, two track side, and one in my hands as a wandered around. I also recorded the sound from the P/A system to capture the action as it happens. The video unfortunately lacks colour correction.
- Oregon Scientific ATC9K - Front Bike Cam
- Contour HD - Rear Bike Cam/Start Line Cam
- Contour ROAM2 - top cam (best video qualify of the bunch)
- GO PRO HD - Turn 4 cam (this one had really BAD video quality!)
- Canon 7D - roving cam (great for stills, not so much for video)
