Limits, crises, taboos ... frontiers.
It takes courage to push back frontiers, master crises and break taboos. The exhibition pavilion 'Viv(r)e les frontières - Experience the frontiers', which is a multi-layered space, that is dramatized audio-visually, focuses on moments of crossing over the boundary.
Boundary situations of our individual and collective experience, culture and prejudices become accessible to experience and the visitor becomes a crosser of the borders and hiker over the ridges of his or her own emotions.
Inside the pavilion the visitor steps into a medial narration room, which can be experienced in 7 stories of moments of crossing over. Life-sized images of people, who each turn out to be the protagonists of boundary situations, are displayed on 28 screens. In the 28 cabins behind these screens, extremely condensed audio dramas make the visitor the subject of a dramatic situation that also picks up on a socially explosive topic. Soon, the human individuals who had been acting in isolation from each other, pass over the boundaries of their action framework and begin to interact, form groups, societies - a world.
The following dramatic showdown extends space in its dimensions and makes it a walk-in film that connects 28 projection surfaces to a single large 360 degree screen.
