The pollen found at archaeological sites allows us to know of the past plants and butterflies that feed on them and coexisted with our ancestors in different cultures. Priego is a city in southern Spain where butterflies have also been crucial in its history, the silk industry of Bombyx mori butterfly allowed economic development in the eighteenth century, and because of that wealth was built a fantastic baroque heritage. The textile industry has been important in this city until today and will be in the future, even with new silks as the spider.
