The river was high and even the navigation was pushing through with the sluices open at the locks and some impressive white water. The weirs were pretty much washed out and it was ridiculously cold for the time of year at around freezing.
We spent several hours thrashing about against wind and current for a couple of enjoyable hours of speedy paddling with the flow practising checking and setting and generally mucking about. The day was rounded off by a quick pint at the New Inn in Send. Thanks to Mal for suggesting the route and being great company.
