This spot for NYC Tourism takes the viewer on a cab, subway & ferry ride through a colorful & surreal version of New York City seen through the eyes of a visiting family.
I was heavily involved in the design, coding development and animation of the following shots: girl clapping erasers, bridge flyover, Shanghai skyline, freeway flyover, ping pong exchange, buildings lighting up, violins playing, end resolve shot.
I worked on the design, animation and compositing throughout various parts of the spot. The most rewarding and challenging shot was the Van Gogh Starry Night moment. Working alongside master coder CJ Cenizal, who brought the paint strokes to life through code that blend into Central Park. I also worked closely with Evan Parsons to create the sense of depth as the camera moves through the painting.
