The "Slop-Intercept Equation" song was conceived by Algebra teacher Brenda Danzinger. She started singing Algebra lyrics to popular songs and taught them to her students. They sing it in the hallways and during the test to remember the rules. Not only that, they have fun singing and dancing in class. This is a motivating way to keep kids engaged in classroom work - look at the smiles and imagine what the movement does for the brain - let alone the fact that the repetition of the math facts helps memorization and application. This is a growing series of Math Songs - look for the Slope-Intercept Song and Parabola sung to the Muppets' Mahna Mahna song.
