In January to February of 2013, My partner and I travelled around India, catching the 5 hour train to the foothills of the Himalayas in Rishikesh, the place where the Beetles would go to practice Yoga! Then catching the plane back to Delhi, our friend Mr Singh picked us up and drove us to Agra that night so we could see the Taj Mahal at the next morning Sunrise, although it was very foggy we thought it had a mystical feel to it.
Driving to Jaipur we got to visit the children one of the country schools, they sang songs to us in English and seemed as excited to see us as we were to see them. Then getting to visit an elderly couple in the small town just out of Jaipur, they made us chai from scratch as they smoked their pipes.
From Jaipur we caught the plane to beautiful Goa where we stayed for a week, which wasn't long enough, such a relaxed part of India. We then caught a 13 hour over night sleeper bus to Mumbai which we did not get any sleep on. After reading Shantaram, it was very interesting to see the streets and different parts of Bombay. A very busy part of India with so much to see and so much going on!
India was an amazing trip, we were so lucky to see so many different parts of India and to meet the people we did.
