At Land Ops we develop and deploy sophisticated navigation and communication exercises for off road explorers and overland expeditions. This episode includes the following ops;
Search and Rescue (SAR) Exercise
Four people who went exploring in a Toyota FJ Cruiser have been missing for five days. Their last known position is a remote location in the Mojave desert. Land Ops conducts this operation with volunteer organization G.I. Joe Search and Rescue (The Joe Le Foundation). The "Joes" are embedded in Land Ops twenty six off road capable support vehicles. The search with all it's challenges is directed by a "Net Control" station located at the Land Ops remote desert command post.
Land Ops/Surefire Joint Tactical Night Operation;
Night fall brings a whole to new level of challenge and intensity to the teams navigating in this unique off road adventure challenge. Four teams depart into the black of night, but are not told in advance where they are going and many have never been to this remote region. The challenge couldn't be more precarious. Unfamiliar terrain and an unknown course in the dead of night. To make matters even more challenging the teams are required to communicate with one another using light signals after going under radio silence. They might as well be working on the dark side of the moon.
