“A small example of a global problem”
Auto manufacturing factories that reside in Southwestern Ontario Canada are closing down more and more as the years go on. What happens to the workers of these factories? Where do they go when that’s all that they knew?
This documentary will focus on one of the last remaining manufacturing factories in the small town of Chatham; MSSC (Meritor Suspension Systems Company). It will follow the personal stories of individuals who have gone from one closing factory to the other and will uncover the hardships small communities experience when factories close.
We will go on a personal journey with factory workers and discover how important manufacturing jobs are to their family and the greater small community. Moreover this will be a testament to the greater global picture to show in a micro example; the importance of manufacturing plants in Canada.
