The Trouble I’ve Seen: Setting the Captives Free - Luke 4:14-24, 28-30
This sermon explores liberation theology and the ways that the narrative force of the Bible is about setting the captives free and calls on us to join Jesus in the work of dismantling white privilege and white supremacy. Last week we talked about systems of power that hold people captive (economic systems, legal systems, education systems), and this week we talk about what it looks like to follow in Jesus’s footsteps and break those chains.
