In this part i take you with me on my tour along the Normandy coast where more than 65 years the famous battle in world war 2 has taken place, D-Day.
We start in the little town of Bayeux and we go along the coast to the place called Arromanche where the Brittisch and Canadian have landed.
We visit some of the German defence batterys and unfortently we had to cancel the trip to Omaha Beach because it started to rain very hard.
And i was was on a mountainbike so it was no fun.
On the forlast day i go from Cherbourg to Caen where i had to change train to go to Paris.
I get there on Paris St Nazaire and i had to go to Gare du Nord to change to the Thalys to Brussels.
Unfortenetly this train was fully booked so i get an alternative route and it goes to Amiens and i crossed the border at Lille Flandres and i spend my last evening in the very nice place called Kortrijk in Belgium.
The last day i go from Kortrijk to Gent.
From Gent i go by Belgium Intercity al the way to the Belgium/German Border to the place called Welkenrath
From there it goes to Aachen and from Aachen i go further north to the town Dusseldorf where i change train back to my starting point Kleve where i parked my car.
This was the end of my Inter-Rail trip al the way trough Southern Europe.
Next year i visit North Europe and i will go to Scandinavia.
If you like to join me on that trip you can apply at my website, railmaarmee.nl
