Georgetown Domes Moon Shadows and Aurora Activity

Georgetown Domes Moon Shadows and Aurora Activity

Michael Booth

This time lapse sequence was taken on the evening/morning of the 28th/29th March 2013 at looking southwards Merv Milward's property at Georgetown (http://astro.yorkcreek.net/). Merv, as you can see by the domes, is a keen astronomer and it was great use his domes in the foreground of the shots. The moon light is a feature of this time lapse almost providing a sense of daylight in the field of view. Also you can see the shadows cast by the observatories in the moon light move as the moon slowly changed position behind the scene. Also later in the sequence you can see to the south just above the roofs of the dome what looks like some fain red glow from aurora activity.
