Meet Oscar. He is 19 years old. His childhood was very difficult; he never had a real home. In 2007, he was sent to Rebirth detention center for an offense. It was there that he met the brothers of Orphan Helpers and accepted Christ as his Savior. He was then transferred to Jalteva detention center where he was invited to join Orphan Helpers’ halfway home Casa Del Rey "House of the King.” In 2011, Oscar and the other residents of Casa Del Rey moved to the Genesis Center in San Pedro Sula. He helps maintain the center and land, he attends school, and he goes to El Carmen detention center each week to talk to the inmates about Christ. By God’s grace and his hard work, Oscar just graduated from high school in December 2012 and started a program through IPC, The Central American Polytechnic Institute. His dream is to be an example to his family and change the mold of his family the way God has changed him.
