A tight group of ten girls calling theirselves "Hotgirls 89" decided to make the first all-female snowboarding movie in Finland ever. In spring 2007 it seemed that we would finally have the possibility to make that dream happen, when our filmers Olli and Osku became interested in the project. Harri was willing to join in as well to photograph the adventures along the film-making process.
Wheels started rolling in June 2007 when the group spent two weeks filming in Stryn and Folgefonna, Norway . Later on the filming went on in various locations in Finland during season 07/08.Our homebase was Ruka, where we spent most of the time. Other resorts that we visited were Sappee, Ylläs, Levi, Ukkohalla, Suomu and Pyhä, just to mention a few. We also spent a couple of weeks shooting in Mayrhofen and Laax, where we came up with the name "Shotgun". In April we visited Åre, Sweden.
Of course everything didn´t always happen the way it was planned, few girls were injured, the wheather sucked now and then and the parks didn´t always turn out to be as good as we imagined. But there were also many great bluebird days with perfect kickers and lots of friendly people willing to help us no matter what time it was.
Some of the girls did the last trip with Olli in late June 2008 to Folgefonna, where the latest tricks were captured.
Thanks for everyone making this happen!
