For Plataforma Chocó 2012 Libia Posada continued her exploration between the body, geography and territory. She used this as an opportunity to combine her medical knowledge as a general medical practitioner with her highly acclaimed talents as a visual artist.
Working with women from the community of Coquí, she explored the foundation's 2012 themes of food, sustainability, nutrition and health, aiming to recover knowledge about living healthily from the land in a region where people have little access to modern medicines.
"What interests me is the survival and sustainability of these communities in Chocó. So much knowledge is held within marginalized ancient practices and can have many benefits to modern science and the rest of humanity. I will explore this with the people that traditionally embody this knowledge including the shaman, community leaders, faith healers, herbalists and women in their domestic environment."
