Into the Sun is a visual and sonic journey that utilizes improvisational projections and music to guide the viewer through the life cycles of our most central cosmic body. A collaboration between Pitch Like Masses (Kari Rae Seekins, Jon Armstrong, Andrew Lessman and Alexander Noice) and Magnuzaki Labs (Joice Ozaki and Hlynur Magnusson), this piece explores the themes of life, death, memory and existence in its purest form.
The three distinct movements represent the different aspects of the sun, one that is an astral body, one that guides us through the passage of time, and one that purifies us, and is part of our bodies in the most basic level: life energy. Into the Sun is a celebration and rediscovery of a powerful entity that accompanies us now and will do so throughout eternity.
Visual medium: live improvisational editing with VDMX, After Effects animation, hand drawn animation, sound reactive generative art with quartz composer patches.
