2nd place winner at the 2013 Sci-Fi London 48 Hour Film Challenge by a jury consisting of Guillermo Del Toro and Benedict Cumberbatch.
*Written, shot, edited and scored in less than 48 hours.
BACKGROUND: Inspired by Gareth Edwards' win 5 years ago, we wanted to push ourselves. See what was possible in 48 hours with no money and virtually no prep. All we had was a dedicated crew of friends (and friends of friends) and an awesome location.
CHALLENGE: We were given a random title ("FALLING APART"), a random line of dialogue ("Fame is fleeting, baby, but legends live forever") and a random prop/action (A mug of steaming liquid - a character sniffs the hot liquid and pours it away), and then we had 48 hours to write a script with those elements, shoot it, edit it, grade it, score it, sound design it, export it and deliver it in person at the London BFI.
We made it with 20 minutes to spare.
OUR GOAL: To make a film that didn't look like it was improvised and shot by a sleep-deprived skeleton crew in one day. More than anything we wanted to prove a point to ourselves: That if you really, really, REALLY want to make a movie, you can.
