When the steel industry left the Pittsburgh area in the 1980's, McKeesport was one of the multiple towns in the Mon Valley that suffered serious losses in population, business and overall morale. As part of one of my graduate courses, I spent an entire semester documenting, researching and getting to know the members of the community in McKeesport, PA to capture the essence of what the town, specifically the main streets, is like today versus several decades ago. I produced this short film based on my experiences. Everything was shot on a Nikon D5100 and edited in Adobe Premiere CS5 & CS6.

Special thanks to the McKeesport Memories Facebook group for putting me in touch with members of the community, and special thanks to Sara Speedy for her assistance in the Palisades footage.
