August 21st - 23rd, 2009 I spent a nice summer August weekend camped near the railroad tracks at the Gaynor railfan hang-out which is nestled in the middle of the Cascade Mountains between Berne and Merritt, WA. Nason Creek flows under a nearby trestle and scenery abounds. Yes, there are also trains to be seen, this is the BNSF Scenic Subdivision mainline where Z-trains, stack trains, coal, bare-table (empty intermodals) and auto racks roam. You will also see AMTRAK's Empire Builder twice a day and an occasional local or work train. In watching this film one doesn't have to wait the sometimes very long stretches between the action, and I have edited train lengths on a couple of the longer trains.
