The Huntington Arts Council suggested that together we produce arts events that would provide opportunities for emerging artists that could simultaneously promote Long Island as a GEN Y cultural mecca.
Twelve of the “founding partners” committed their own funds to make SPARKBOOM happen, and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature awarded a very nice grant to enhance the SPARKBOOM project.
In its first year, SPARKBOOM will run April – September 2013. There will be music, photography, poetry, happy creatives dancing and more.
