Green Restoration Ireland was established as a cooperative in 2019 to find fair and innovative solutions to rewetting peatlands for the ‘forgotten’ farmers and landowners who are in possession of 92% of Ireland’s peatlands. It has an ongoing project to rewet damaged bogs in county Mayo and after being awarded an EIP is implementing its Farm:Carbon project to address emissions from agriculturally-managed peatlands in the Midlands.
