in 2007, I had my old Sony camcorder set up to film the birds gathered to eat seeds in our parking lot. A snowstorm had hit us the day before, but now the sun was shining, the air was crisp, but not brutally cold. Our neighbor, Lanny, who often shoveled our driveway, came by to shovel a path for the postman. He didn't see me filming, did his job and left. He died the following autumn of a heart attack. I'm glad I caught this moment on film.
