Iraqi National Investment Commission: 100,000 Unit "New Town" Residential Housing Effort
MICH Development has just signed a multi-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Investment Commission of Iraq, for the design-finance-build-operate of completed residential communities to meet the critical housing needs of the Iraqi people.
The master agreement identifies delivering a complete city of 100,000 dwelling units, and its associated city activities and infrastructure – part of the larger national need for 2 to 3 million new residential units -- built over the next five years, and will give Michigan-based companies a critical export destination for a wide spectrum of goods, services technologies and know-how.
Initially, two Bagdad-area sites have been identified, each for initially 35,000 dwelling units, with other sites also possible throughout Iraq. Watch us at intres.org
