It’s about the glory of God coming upon us, and the glory of the World coming to us!! It’s about ending the Church dispensation with God’s glory! In this series of teachings, Dr. Don G. Pickney takes a look, scripturally at the coming period of glory, and gives insight into what this period of glory may look like. He stresses two primary things:
1. When we look into the Word of God at prophetic scripture, we can see God’s plan very clearly, identifying exact perimeters and details of prophetic events. In this teaching, of course we are speaking of the coming period of glory upon the church, and the great wealth conversion that is an equal part of Isaiah 60’s prophecy, as the “rich sea trade and wealth of nations is converted to the righteous (the body of Christ). (Thompson Chain Reference Bible – Isaiah 60 Titled, “God’s glory upon the Church”):
Isaiah 60:1-11 "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. (2) See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. (5) Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy because the wealth on the seas (Moffatt: the rich sea trade and the wealth of nations) will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come. (6) Camels (Heb. Gamals: any burden bearing labor to bring goods) will overwhelm you… (8) "Who are these that fly along like clouds, like doves to their nests? (9) …bringing your children from afar, with their silver and gold, to the honor of the LORD your God for he has endowed you with splendor. (11) Your gates will be open continually, they will never be shut, day or night, so that people may bring you the wealth of the nations.”
2. It is important in our preaching or in personal prophecy that we not go where the Word of God does not go! There are no events planned from now to the end of this age that is not found in scripture. God left nothing out of His sovereign plans for this age… from beginning to end… To attempt to lay new foundations for prophetic events, not found in biblical prophecy, through personal prophecy is unscriptural. I you are listening to a modern day “Prophet,” make sure what they prophecy is an extension of what is found in God’s Word.
3. Personal prophecy or spiritual inspiration (edification, exhortation and comfort, 1Cor. 14:3) is also needed to gather “comfort” for what is taking place in the earth, and a more personal picture of what this period of glory will look like. It is in this part of our understanding, however, that the scripture tells us “We see through a glass darkly.” Our vision and understanding is not complete, rather “in part.”
1Corinthians 13:9-12 “For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. (10) But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. (11) When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12) For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”
Paul exhorts us:
1Thessalonians 5:20-21 “Do not spurn the gifts and utterances of the prophets [do not depreciate prophetic revelations nor despise inspired instruction or exhortation or warning]. (21) But test and prove all things [until you can recognize] what is good; [to that] hold fast.”
Thus, as the second teaching of the series unfolds, Pastor Don he uses a recent personal prophecy given last week by one of the modern day “prophets” as an example of prophesying outside of God’s already established last-day events.
He encourages that God will make our personal lives, and that of the Church, extremely glorious with a brilliance and excellence the world has never seen. In the world, the wealth of the wealthy is hidden away, horded out of view of the rest of us. The world doesn’t see what glory that wealth could be like if it was released into life.
Get ready for much biblical prophetic revelation in this teaching.
