This film documents the conservation and restoration work carried out by the Byzantine Institute at Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, Turkey. It shows a close-up view of the apse mosaic of the Virgin and Christ child, as well as the fieldworkers tracing the mosaics under the supervision of Thomas Whittemore.
