Lebanon Memorial United Methodist Church, Lebanon, Virginia, was the site of Lena and Josh’s October 6 wedding. The day was a musical delight! The Virginia Gentlemen sang “Hallelujah” during the ceremony, and the Horizon Band , from Richmond, entertained guests during a reception held at the Martha Washington Inn in Abingdon. Josh, a former vocalist with the ensemble, was definitely “hooked on a feeling” (couldn’t resist the pun) and had a little influence in getting them to his wedding.
Founded in 1953 as an octet of the University’s Glee Club, the Virginia Gentlemen are the University of Virginia’s oldest a cappella vocal ensemble. VG has performed for President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama, President George and First Lady Laura Bush, the University of Virginia’s Capital Campaigns in Charlotte and Washington DC, the Sydney Opera House, and other internationally known venues.
Lena, a UVA law school graduate, took the honor of having two judges participate in the nuptials. Guests, from CA to the DC and NY to FL, danced and enjoyed the evening. It was a fun wedding for all!
We hope you enjoy their wedding day highlight.
