Its been over 2 years since i've been camping and as I grow older, it becomes harder for me to plan and enjoy the smaller things in life like camping outdoors due to the responsibilities I gain through becoming an adult. This Spring Break of 2013, I wanted to take a break from school, work, social media, and every other repetitive things I do in my life that have grown boring and stale. Out here at Beaver Bend State Park in Oklahoma, it was very cold with limited toilets and showers, no electricity, no cell phone service, and 30 mins away from the main town. Even though getting through the next day took a little bit more effort than what I'm used to, it was all worth it, and it made me appreciate what I have back at home much more rather than taking it all for granted. Sitting by a warm campfire, being able to see the stars through the dark cloudless sky, and canoeing out in the river with nothing but the sound of water and nature all around was more peaceful and relaxing than anything I could compare to back in the city. It was a perfect break away from home and one that I enjoyed with the company of great friends.
