The 2013 Annual Alcohol Poll was launched at the Cancer Council of Victoria’s head office in Melbourne on Thursday 18 April.

The poll takes an in-depth look at Australians’ attitudes towards alcohol, their drinking behaviours, and their perspectives on key alcohol policies according to voting intentions.

The launch event highlighted trends in community perspectives on alcohol over the past three years, and featured presentations from Caterina Giorgi, Manager Policy and Research, FARE on the report’s key findings, and Mr Todd Harper, Chief Executive Officer, Cancer Council Victoria on Australians’ attitudes towards alcohol and chronic disease.

The event concluded with a panel discussion on the results of this year’s poll with:
- Ms Jill Stark, author of High Sobriety and Senior Writer, Sunday Age
- Professor Robin Room, Director, Centre for Alcohol Policy Research
- Senator Richard Di Natale, Greens Spokesperson for Health
- Mr James Beckford Saunders, Director Education and Advocacy, UnitingCare ReGen
