From April 2008 to June 2009 the young German couple Ragna Schmidt-Haupt and Amiram Roth-Deblon rode on their bicyles through 12 African countries for their campaign called "Cycle Generation". They wanted to look out for local organisations which are succesfully involved in climate protection. In Uganda they organised a youth workshop together with the Kenya Young Greens and the Uganda Green Movement. In the rural Ruboni community they took part in an extraordinary tree planting activity. They learned how the community manages to combine ecotourism and development through afforestation.
