First I would like to say that I have no affiliation with Sic Urethane and that I am not gaining anything from these videos and I will continue to provide an unbiased opinion of the wheels throughout the process.
My name is Rann West and although I said 10 years I have actually be skating closer to 13 and through that time I have destroyed wheels from every company (save a few of the new ones that have released since 2012) at one point in time and some more than once. I know that given my size I am not going to get the lifespan out of a wheel that a "normal" rollerblader will get. However, I think that skating only two or three days a week and mostly at skate parks I should be able to get more than 60-90 days out of a set of wheels. After speaking with other rollerbladers in Texas I was turned to someone who told me that they could solve my problems. I received my Josh Glowicki Pro Wheels from Sic Urethane on 4/22/2013. These videos will follow the progression of the Sic Urethane as I, a rollerblader of 250+, continue to put them through the use that has claimed wheels from almost every other brand in rollerblading.
This video shows my initial impressions of the wheel before skating them and some of my thoughts during the first street/park session that took place 4/23/2013. I was able to get a good three to three and a half hours of skating done on these wheels and so far I am impressed with the wheel. This wheel is the first offering from Sic Urethane and it does not disappoint. The wheels are incredibly fast and have an amazing smooth ride, however the flat profile did take me a few trips around the park to get used to the different feel due to me coming from round profiled wheels. The wheels have shown virtually zero wear through this session save for some minor pitting on my front wheel of my main "push" foot. I do not think that this pitting is anything to worry about yet as I have had another wheels do this in the past and nothing every happen however it is something that must be watched.
I plan to do the next update after I have been able to get about twenty to twenty five hours of rolling time on the wheels.
Thanks for watching.
P.S. Please let me know if you have any questions I will try my best to answer them.
