More than half of Idaho’s land is public and managed by federal agencies. This is land many of us recreate on every year. We camp, ride horses, mountain bike, hike and so much more on our public lands.
This year Idaho lawmakers have considered whether the state should demand that the federal government transfer these public lands to the state. The debate comes after Utah’s governor signed legislation last year requiring that federal government transfer millions of acres of lands to Utah by December of 2014.
Other states including Arizona and New Mexico have considered similar moves. So who should manage Idaho's public lands? You're invited to join KBSX News for a community discussion about the future of Idaho’s public lands.
