The Secret of Angel Row is a short documentary film on Bromley House Library, a private library that has been running since 1822. Situated at the heart of Nottingham’s city centre, seconds away from Market Square, a door stands open between two shop fronts. Not concealed, but hidden in plain sight. It leads into the Library that is quietly juxtaposed against the consumer culture surrounding it. The documentary aims to uncover the wealth of history, knowledge and tranquility that lies through the doorway; exploring the library and finding out why it is special to the people that use it, in the hope that the audience will recognise the importance of preserving such a unique cultural and historical hidden gems.
