In 2011, a bank changed a song to change a country. A year later, it needed to find a way to keep them going. Fortunately, 2012 was an Olympic year. And in a country where only boxers had won an all-time total of 6 Olympic medals, Banco Popular decided instead to focus on Javier Culson, an unlikely but promising track athlete. Not because of his ability, but because of his event: the 400 meters with hurdles. Just like Culson jumps hurdles, Puerto Rico must overcome obstacles. This way, Banco Popular gave Culson’s race a completely different meaning.
