Paul (Thomas J. Madden) is an independent filmmaker and stay-at-home Dad to his 6-month-old, Pearl (Tessa Day Looby), while his wife, Mary (Amy Seimetz), returns to work to provide a stable income for the family. At first they view themselves as progressive, "cool" parents for eschewing the expected gender roles, but soon, Mary finds it difficult to be away from the baby and Paul learns that writing his screenplay in naptime intervals is not realistic. Writer/Director Todd Looby steers clear of the farcical "hapless Mr. Mom" clichés to offer a fresh and honest perspective on the challenges new parents face as they struggle to balance career, creativity, identity and the baby on their hip.
