Queenslander Charles Chauvel was one of Australia’s leading filmmakers and industry pioneers. A resilient businessman and entrepreneur, he developed an international reputation for this work. A devout Nationalist, he championed “Australian-Made” in the face of intense international competition, producing such iconic films as "Jedda", "Rats of Tobruk" and "Forty Thousand Horsemen".
