A simple test of the 2013 Nissan Leaf's capability using only electric power to climb from Kula on Maui at 2500' to the summit of Haleakala Volcano in Haleakala National Park at 9740' and then descend back to Kula.
The 2013 Leaf's new B-mode aggressive regeneration is demonstrated recovering about 38% of the charge used to climb over 7000'. The trip is approximately 14.5 miles each way.
Not exactly perpetual motion but impressive!
