M2A™:The Fantastic Voyage is a project built around the first ever clinical study to use the M2A™ Capsule and SmartPill wireless gastroenterology devices to look at how the human body responds to processed versus whole foods. The M2A™ Capsule records video (in the form of a Quick Time Movie file) and the SmartPill collects time, pressure, and pH data both from within the gastrointestinal (GI) tract.
This footage is from the first trial that took place June 25th 2011 and was the first time that this technology was used in concert with food to investigate and examine the impact of certain comestibles on the GI tract.
The meal seen on the left consists of the processed foods: Blue Gatorade, Top Ramen + Gummy Bears.
The meal seen on the right consists of the whole foods hibiscus gatorade, homemade ramen noodle soup + homemade cherry/pomegranate gummy bears.
While the videos are compelling more trials need to be conducted in order to assess scientific conclusions.
