A short film of Mirja Rosendahl's Spring / Summer Collection 2013
Swedish designer Mirja Rosendahl launched her eponymous men's line in London in 2011. Her collections are a contemporary take on the style codes of youth subcultures past and present, combining sophisticated sportswear with playful details, unusual fabrics and an emphasis on craftsmanship. Her work has been featured on the covers of both I-D and Vogue Russia and she has previously worked for Christopher Shannon and Patrik Ervell.
For Spring Summer 2013 Mirja Rosendahl looked to the iconic movie Jaws, finding influence in the 1970's coastal resort setting and the story of local men facing the threat of a Great White Shark. American varsity and nautical references filter into a refined summer collection that combines luxury and utilitarian fabrics, a masculine palette with bold pops of colour, and playful styling with functional detailing.
A limited edition range of jersey pieces featuring sweatshirts and t-shirts carry prints inspired by quotes and scenes from Jaws, with all pieces made in England.
