For my video project I depicted the “life” of two hotdogs from packaging, through an extreme cooking process, until their eventual “death” or until they were to be eaten. I tried to capture the viewer’s attention using what at first appear to be two appetizing hotdogs, only to slowly go through the process of destroying the hotdogs using the methods that are normally intended to make them good. An added twist is that once the hot dogs become unappetizing that they are then shown to have been eaten anyway. I tried to invoke curiosity within the viewer as to what they are seeing, and then each time they think they have figured it out, such as assuming the video is just about making hot dogs, I add a twist, such as destroying the hot dogs or eating the destroyed dogs.
